I have a PhD in Anthropology from UC Santa Cruz and an MA in Anthropology from San Francisco State University. My undergraduate degree in Psychology is also from San Francisco State University.
Experience
I have a great love of teaching that includes Elementary School, Middle School and undergraduate college level courses. I have found that students repeatedly take my classroom offerings and generally increase their academic standings by a year for every semester we work together. This is very gratifying to me. My professional work as an anthropologist, teacher, writer and consultant has provided me with a broad range of skills that encourage an active level of classroom interest on the part of my students. I also work to engage my students’ families in the process of learning and personal growth. Teaching is a real pleasure for me. My work as an anthropologist with Native Americans and my hobby of slight of hand magic each contribute in their own way to a friendly, interesting and engaging learning environment.

Hobbies
My hobbies include stone tool manufacture, Native American culture, coin collecting, astronomy,close up magic,chess,fishing, and archaeological interests. I take great pleasure in walking through the woods and looking closely at the nature of the country around me.
