Experience
I am a University of the Pacific (Stockton, California) alumnus with a bachelor's in Sociology. There, I also minored in both International Studies and Ethnic Studies, and I studied abroad in Argentina teaching English. Following graduation, I chose to enlist with the AmeriCorps so as to continue my love for youth education and service. Currently, I am serving as a City Year volunteer tutoring middle schoolers with the program. In addition to teaching them math, I also have worked tutoring English and Language Arts with first graders specifically focusing on the areas of comprehension and vocabulary. Over the years, I've spent a lot of time tutoring children and youth, and I enjoy it! Honestly, I just enjoy giving back. For me, it's clear that each student deserves quality, accessible education, no matter where they come from. I set the bar high for my students because I believe that through perseverance and perhaps some help they really can reach all their goals.In my free time, I like to listen to music. I have a naturally extroverted personality. If I could, I'd learn as many languages and cultures as possible through travel.
