Experience
I am SyAnn Preston. I have served students in public education for eight years as a special educator and high school English teacher. My education, work experience, and entrepreneurial role has afforded me with the unique ability to create diverse programs that are meaningful to people of all learning, social, and ability levels. I started as a Special education instructional assistant in 2009, very quickly I found a love and a natural gift I had with working with students with learning, mental and emotional disabilities. In the past eight years in serving students with learning disabilities I have learned to create diverse programs through planning for students with a range of mental, physical, and social abilities. As I learned more about education field I decide to pursue a English teaching career. As a high school English teacher I used the planning skills I had as a special instructional aid, to organize, create, and implement diverse programs that complied with state standards and education code requirements. As an English teacher I was able to use data analysis to coordinate daily plans and build a holistic approach to student learning so much so that I founded a class called Professional Writing where I built curriculum and taught students how to write narrative, expository, informative and creatives styles of writing.
