I am uniquely qualified as a tutor, not only due to my own background and education, but also because I am still a student! I obtained my B.A. in Biology from UC Berkeley. I also have a minor in Music. My degree emphasizes Immunology within Cellular and Molecular Biology. As part of my college career, I was involved with assisting students in high school by tutoring science and math. I also have experience tutoring grade school ages. My primary teaching philosophies surround the need to support and to create a framework in which each student's particular needs are identified and met. While I have tutored Biology, Chemistry, Trigonometry, and Algebra (including at AP and Honors levels), my goal has always been to share the fun of learning new things. So much of what I teach also teaches the student about his or herself and own life. For test preparation, I also have experience in SAT II Biology and AP Biology. In this setting, I have taught multiple students at the same time, so I am comfortable with both group and individual teaching. My personal interests include outdoor activities, music, and baking. I expect and encourage parents to work collaboratively with me and their child for the best chance of success.
