Education
I'm finishing a degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics with a minor in Philosophy at Sacramento State University. My main area of interest is in statistics, though I do enjoy tutoring algebra and geometry quite a bit. I spend my free time volunteering with children and youth. I'll be seeking a Masters of Divinity after I graduate.
Experience
I've spent 5 years working as a private tutor with students from 3rd grade all the way up to adults going back to school. I specialize in writing, math, and SAT/ACT tests. Most of my students have been with me for several years and often my new students find me through recommendations from my current students. I'm used to adapting to different learning styles, and needs. I prefer to tutor individually instead of in groups. I've found that most students tend to focus better in focused sessions with individual attention. Students are often looking to catch up, get ahead, or prepare for testing. I'm very comfortable creating and implementing lesson plans to reach these goals. As well as creating lesson plans that supplement in class learning, which are more suited to your individual learning style.
