Experience
I am a graduate of Mills College, and have served as a tutor since I was a middle schooler. I have a wide variety of experiences tutoring students ranging from elementary school to adult learners. I have worked with ESL/ELL students and special needs students with autism, Asperger's, and other intellectual disabilities. I enjoy tutoring subjects including algebra, anatomy, chemistry, physical chemistry, psychology, history, reading, writing, public speaking, Spanish, nutrition, and many more. I am a compassionate tutor, and find it beneficial to develop a mutual respect with my students in order to create a positive, productive learning environment. I enjoy taking the time to get to know my students' academic lives as well, as creating a learning program that is prepared especially for the student is essential to learning success! I include lessons in critical thinking, study skills, and organization into every session, as these are skills that will carry over to enhance future academic and personal achievement. I encourage my students to be active learners and ask lots of questions. I have a passion for education, and I aim to share my love of learning with each of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy running, cycling, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, and learning all sorts of new things!
