Experience

I have a Bachelor’s in Finance and an MBA with an emphasis in Finance, both from the University of Santa Clara. As a professional I have earned credentials as a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Investments and Derivatives Auditor. I also have training as an SAT test prep educator. I recently passed the CBEST and the SAT exams with scores well over the 90th percentile level. The California Commission on Teaching Credentialing has granted me a 30 day substitute teaching permit. I have recent experience teaching seminars to business owners and professional organizations. Last year I served as a 3rd-grade teacher’s assistant and tutored children in underperforming school districts in math and language arts. I am particularly talented in standardized test preparation, and have had training in helping students raise their scores. Currently I tutor K-12 students in Math, English, Writing and other subjects. I also develop and present adult education seminars on various payroll topics. I wish to devote the second half of my career to teaching. I remember fondly the teachers who mentored me, and want to be the same to my students. I have teaching and tutoring experience at the elementary and high school level, and am looking forward to starting off as a substitute, teacher’s aide or other such position. I would feel comfortable teaching any course at any level through high school I am also particularly adept at math, and am often able to help students having difficulty quickly and effectively grasp the necessary skills to pass their classes. My goals -- to providing solid foundational instruction and mentoring students to help them thoughtfully plan career paths -- fit with most schools’ overall mission I look forward to forming relationships with faculty and students alike.
