My name is Komal Dani. I am a sophomore at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), and recieved the International Baccalaureate Diploma in December 2014. At UCSD, I have taken Calculus I, II, and III; Honors General Chemistry I; General Chemistry II and III; Organic Chemistry I; Biology I; Physics (Mechanics); and Humanities I and II amongst other classes. I am a Ronald McDonald House Scholarship Recipient (June 14, 2014), Society of American Military Engineers Scholarship Recipient (May 22, 2014), and Interwest Consulting Group Scholarship Recipient (May 1, 2014). I have also won the California State Legislature Scholastic Achievement Award (May 22, 2014), the Science Department Award at Laguna Creek High School (May 21, 2014) the President’s Education Award (May 21, 2014), and University of Rochester Bausch and Lomb Science Award (August 2013). I am someone who can adapt to any situation, communicates extensively, and works enthusiastically and passionately. I thrive in an environment that forces me to think on my feet when encountering unforeseen problems, and I am able to efficiently transform such obstacles into solutions. I have great communication skills which enable me to work well with others in team settings and explain concepts in original ways that allow students to fully understand what they are being taught. I want students to enjoy learning and hope that they catch my enthusiasm and positivity during tutoring sessions. Watching students gain confidence with difficult concepts and become motivated to learn is truly one of my favorite moments as a tutor. I love working with others, and want to give every student the opportunity to grow and succeed.
