I graduated in 2005 from UC Santa Cruz with a B.A. in History. I graduated in 2015 from CSU Sacramento with my (preliminary) Multiple Subject (K-8) credential. I attended law school from 2007 - 2009.
Experience
I can tutor young children or adults. I have experience tutoring students in not only content but in study skill building. I tutored a seventh grade student this Spring who has an audio processing disorder. He went from an F to a B+ but I didn't just tutor him in content, I taught him HOW to study and tackle subjects with optimism and confidence in his own academic abilities. I taught him how to use his strengths (visual arts) and disregard traditional study tactics (flashcards) that were unhelpful to him. Tutoring students is all about finding what works for the student.
