Lon Wolf F.
Private tutor in Sacramento, CA
Education
I recently graduated from the University of California - Davis, with a bachelor's degree in Cell Biology. My overall GPA was 3.78, earning me a citation for academic performance from my department. I'm currently taking a gap year, taking post-baccalaureate certificate program in data science, with the hopes of pursuing PhD studies in bioinformatics.
Experience
Helping students succeed academically is a passion of mine, and I have always enjoyed helping people find their "Aha!" moment. In high school, I served as a teaching assistant to the first-grade class of my after-school Chinese-language program. I prepared lesson plans, wrote and graded tests, and held a weekly one-hour instruction session for the students. In college, I served as a BEACON peer tutor for second semester general chemistry, and gained further experience tutoring in a number of other STEM subjects, including elementary algebra, organic chemistry, and first-semester calculus. In addition to classroom experience, I have also written or contributed copyediting for publications that have appeared in a peer-reviewed cancer-research journal and an international research conference, as well as for other professional correspondence.

Hobbies
I am a huge East-Asian-languages geek! I speak, read, and write basic Mandarin and Cantonese; have an elementary proficiency in reading classical Chinese; and am teaching myself Japanese right now. I'm also an avid runner who runs at least three miles every day--usually seven on weekends, and hoping to ramp that number up even higher! I enjoy drawing too; I mostly do pencil sketches, but I'm trying my hand at 2D animation and digital coloring.
