My experience is as a classroom teacher. I have 4 years of experience as a substitute teacher with Sac City Unified School District in grades K-12. I also have 3 years of teaching at a private school in Sacramento (Southpointe Christian School) in grades 3/4 combo, 5/6 combo, and middle school. In addition to teaching, I have worked in after school programs and summer day camps for a total of over 6 years. I have directed 4 years of the summer day camps.

Hobbies

I love teaching and connecting to students on their level. I enjoy taking a subject a child struggles with and instilling confidence and mastery in him/her. I am a visionary and see things the way they could be. I see every student with untapped potential and my job is to give him/her the confidence and tools to accomplish his/her goals. I teach critical thinking and real world application with every subject. I believe your child can accomplish anything he/she puts their mind to. It is my goal to help them realize that. My hobbies include working out, playing guitar, walking my dog, snowboarding, playing and watching football, hiking, and just hanging out in nature. Having worked with children for the past 10 years, I am up to date on most Disney songs, children's movies, and lingo. I unfortunately do know most of the words to the Frozen soundtrack, but will not sing them unless of course it is absolutely necessary for your child's academic success :) In addition to using internet resources to supplement learning, I also have access to curriculum from kindergarten to eighth grade from my school.
