I have a decade of teaching experience, and I love my job. I've known I wanted to be a teacher since I was a fifth-grader. I like to help students develop confidence in their abilities, and I enjoy working with students to fill their knowledge gaps, turning weaknesses to strengths. When students can overcome learning obstacles become confident, the opportunities available to them are endless. I attended Sonoma State University to earn my bachelor's degree in history, and then I went on to Sacramento State to become credentialed as a teacher. I spent the past 7 1/2 years working for a charter school focused on independent study, and I'm also substitute teaching. As a tutor, I want to have a positive effect on my students and provide them with the knowledge every student deserves. When I have free time, I like to travel, volunteer, and play with my rescue dogs.
