I have a BS degree in Materials Engineering from Virginia Tech as well as an AS degree in Pharmacy Technology.
Experience
Even though my formal education and job experiences are varied, I have found my passion in teaching. I am an instructor of Pharmacy Technology. I enjoy watching the light bulb go on as students get engaged and understand new material. I have been teaching for over 2 years. I spent 10 years working in a pharmacy as well as jobs that related to my engineering degree. I am committed to teaching, and part of that is tutoring. I enjoy one on one with students. The student seem to understand material better when the focus is on them, and I have tailored the lesson to fit the student. I have successfully tutored students to pass all 4 components of the new, common core focused GED. The GED can be a challenge, and it's great to have someone there with you all of the way. I am a licensed, certified pharmacy technician with a certification in non sterile compounding. My goal with my students is to have the ready to take the PTCB exam. I enjoy seeing a student succeed in whatever they set out to do.
