California State University-Sacramento - BS, Speech Pathology , California State University-Sacramento - MS, Speech Pathology
I am a compassionate teacher, and I believe that the sky's the limit as long as we continue to learn and grow, which, in my opinion, is the secret to living a happy life. Learning needs to be fun! Research tells us that the brain is continually growing neurons, and the best way to keep them active is to keep learning.I have worked with many different types of people, and have tutored students from all over the world. I have taught ELL students to hone their English speaking skills, and have taught ELL children the English language for the first time. I have also volunteered to work with both adults and young adults who want to earn their GED. Beyond that, I have enjoyed tutoring people with learning challenges, stroke survivors, people with brain injuries, dyslexics, and ADHD learners. The topics I tutor include writing, literature, essay writing, social studies, test preparation, English, and reading. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Art with an emphasis in Studio Art from San Diego State University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology from California State University-Sacramento, where I am currently pursuing a master's degree.
